International Competition Support Fund

The Pony Express Fund (PEF) is a bank savings fund which is being set up to be granted to qualifying USAWEA members to assist in the expenses of international competitions. USAWEA supports advanced level equestrians, providing funding for coaching, training, competing, and traveling expenses to international WE shows and events. It will provide these PEF funds to assist with expenditures relating to international competitions, selection events and trainings for USAWEA members who are fielded to the USA International WE Team when the time comes.

Examples of such expenditures are:

· Flights, ground transport for athletes, coaches, team managers, horses

· Accommodation for athletes, coaches, team managers, horses

· Freight of equipment

· Hire of training venue

· Uniforms

· Veterinary costs

· Accreditation/entry fees

When a horseman has reached the stage that they are competing in Working Equitation on an International level, they have invested an immense amount of time and money in the quest to represent the United States in this discipline.  Extensive travel is required and riders will need sponsorships to fund the competition expenses on the long road to representing the United States at these competitions. USAWEA is committed to being prepared to support their member riders when the time comes that we have a qualifying International team through. To do this USAWEA actively donates to the PEF and we encourage you to do so also!
